Athlete Profile: Jean-Philippe Le Guellec

Jean-Philippe first started in the sport of biathlon at age 13 at the  St-Bruno Cadet facility in Montreal. He joined the development  squad a year later and also started to race on the civilian circuit. Jean-Philippe has since made great strides in the sport: just two years after his first race in the junior category, he was a member of the 2006 Canadian Olympic Biathlon Team that competed in Torino, Italy. He gained great experience in his two Olympic appearances that he says will give him additional motivation, and an extra edge, to target the podium beyond the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. When away from the biathlon track, this two-time winner of the Myriam Bédard trophy enjoys white water kayaking, dancing, movies, drawing and a whole lot more.
