Megan’s interest in biathlon began when she was six years old after watching the Canadian Biathlon Championships in her hometown of Falcon Lake, MB. She took part in an after-school Biathlon Bears program and loved it. Megan’s work ethic and love for the outdoors can be traced back to growing up on her parents ranch of 40 horses.
In 2005, Megan left home to train in Canmore and pursue her dream of representing Canada at the Olympic Winter Games which she accomplished in 2010. Thanks to the support of her hometown and personal sponsors, Megan has been able to focus on biathlon, and take a few university correspondence courses as well. Megan’s favourite pastime is spending time at her family’s cabin, where she enjoys wakeboarding, waterskiing, sailing and horseback riding.
